How to read this comparison

This page is published by FOLIGAIN®. We aim to show Ro accurately, including where it offers something FOLIGAIN® doesn't. Ro is a trademark of its owner.

OTC Minoxidil products at the same strength contain the same active ingredient under the same FDA rules. Real differences are usually format, inactive ingredients (such as propylene glycol or alcohol level), pack size, price per month, buying channel and whether a subscription or telehealth visit is involved.

Prices and ranges change often. Where a row says 'Not offered / not verified', we have not confirmed the product on a current label.

About FOLIGAIN®

FOLIGAIN® is the publisher of this resource. Its range combines OTC Minoxidil for men and women with cosmetic TRIOXIDIL® shampoos, conditioners and serums, scalp tools and supplements, so a full routine can come from one brand.

Only the Minoxidil products are OTC drug products for hereditary hair loss. TRIOXIDIL®, 2dDR and TRICHOGEN® products are cosmetics that support the look and feel of hair and scalp; they are not drug treatments.

  • Supply sizes from one month up to 12 months
  • Low-alcohol Minoxidil option for men
  • Minoxidil + TRIOXIDIL® combination products and coordinated shampoos/conditioners
  • Scalp tools and supplements in the same range

About Ro

Ro (formerly Roman) is a multi-condition telehealth platform. For hair loss it offers topical Minoxidil 5% (generic Rogaine®), oral finasteride (generic Propecia®), oral Minoxidil (generic Loniten — prescribed off-label for hair loss), and a compounded 3-in-1 spray.

Its Ro Mane Spray combines Minoxidil 6%, finasteride 0.3% and tretinoin 0.025% in a once-daily topical. Ro states clearly that this is a compounded medication and not FDA-approved, and that oral Minoxidil is not FDA-approved for hair loss.

  • Hair loss within a broader telehealth platform
  • Off-label oral Minoxidil option
  • 3-in-1 compounded spray with tretinoin to aid absorption
  • Free shipping, billed and shipped every 2 months

How to choose

Pick the label that matches your sex and needs, then the format you'll use consistently. Compare cost per month rather than per bottle, and ask a pharmacist if you have health conditions.
