Applying treatment along the hair part

Start with cleansing

Build-up from styling products and topicals can leave the scalp itchy and flaky. For most people washing every one to two days with a gentle shampoo is enough; leaving longer gaps is not automatically gentler.

Keep the routine small

Two or three steps used consistently will beat six steps used sporadically. Add products one at a time so you can tell what is causing a reaction if one occurs.

  • Cleanse with a gentle shampoo
  • Condition mid-lengths and ends
  • Apply your topical to a dry scalp
  • Leave it undisturbed before styling

When to pause

Persistent burning, spreading redness, swelling or open skin are reasons to stop and seek advice rather than push through.
